Okay so my Halloween was actually not especially "European" but I thought it would be fun to share about how I got pumpkins and how kids trick or treat and stuff. Okay so, first of all, I LOVE fall, I have been enjoying this cold weather so much since Florida has only one season: summer. So the day before Halloween Lily and I were hanging out and we decided we wanted to throw a little Halloween get-together at my house and cook and carve pumpkins and watch Harry Potter. So the morning of Halloween we got up and went to Auchan to get candy, decorations, and apple cider. We got really cute decorations and everything was on sale because it was Halloween which is great because Lily and I are both ballin' on a budget. So we spent like 18 euros and then went home and decorated the movie room in the lower level of my house. It was actually so fun making everything really cute and spooky. So then we made pumpkin squash carrot soup before I had to take Ashley to training. We went straight from dropping Ashley off to a pumpkin patch in France like 50 minutes away. It's called Cueillette de Peltre and it's SO cute! It's like this farm where you can pick apples off the trees and the most beautiful flowers out of the ground and pumpkins from a patch during the fall. And they make their own cheese and breads and apple juice and jams. So we took some pics and got pumpkins to carve and apples to make caramel apples and headed back to Lux in time to pick up Ashley. Lily and I finished setting up all the food and decor and made the hot cider and then got our costumes on! I was a cat (because it's the easiest costume in the world and i did not plan ahead, obviously) and Lily wore one of my hippy looking dresses and tied ribbon around her head and put on some round glasses. And then Selma, Oona, and Ashley arrived! Lily and I served the soup and we put on Halloween music videos on the projector and we just enjoyed each other's company and got to know everyone a little better and ate way more candy than we should have. Then Oona and Selma had to go and Ashley, Lily and I put PJs on and made hot chocolate and watched the first Harry Potter. Which is by the way like the best Halloween movie, it even has a Halloween scene in it. And as we sipped our hot chocolate and watched Harry Potter I was so content, maybe the most I have been since I've been here. Which felt like a nice little bit of encouragement from the Lord. So overall my Halloween in Luxembourg was pretty fantastic.
